How it is calculated

Initial margin = entry × quantity / leverage.
Long: entry × (1 − 1/leverage − extraMargin/(entry × quantity) + MMR).
Short: entry × (1 + 1/leverage + extraMargin/(entry × quantity) − MMR).
Distance = |liquidation − entry| / entry.
MMR is entered as a percentage and divided by 100 in the formula.

Example: entry 100, leverage 10, MMR 0.5%, no extra margin → long 90.50 (distance 9.5%), short 109.50. Long with quantity 1 and 5 USDT extra margin → 85.50.

Notes

Exchanges compute liquidation from their own maintenance-margin tiers, mark price and fees; cross-margin accounts behave differently. Treat this as a first approximation.

Isolated margin only. Fees and funding are ignored. If position quantity is empty, the model uses 1 unit.
